Good day Hive 🔆 Today I had a bit of work to do on my best friend, the Wood stove.
It was warm enough this morning to not need a fire so I took out the badly cracked/ broken fire bricks and replaced them.
Pretty easy job, took maybe 15 minutes.
I will try to be more gentle this year when putting wood in the stove lol! They were all replaced last year hahaaa 😂
I really like to throw that wood in with a lot of force apparently 😅
Any ideas what I could use these broken bricks for? I'd love to repurpose them...
After my slack day on Saturday (which still involved the laundrymat, grocery shopping, making dinner and cleaning haha) I had catching up to do for my bakery.
Sea salt and olive oil sourdough loaves:
After 12 hours of bulk ferment of my dough in the fridge, and 12 more hours on the table with 2 shapings, I'm ready to bake.
First I brush on a generous amount of olive oil.
Next I sprinkle on copious amounts of sea salt.
After they come out of the oven I brush with more olive oil while they are piping hot. I love how they glisten!
🧐 The glistening doesn't show up very well in pictures sigh ...
Here's the whole batch:
That style of bread doesn't tend to last very long on the shelves. It's sooooo good.
And I don't care what DR'S say, sea salt is good for us. Our body needs it! We are made of salt water FFS.
I also made 9 loaves of banana bread:
50 Chocolate chip cookies:
And 50 haystacks 💗🥰
I have two ovens and a 20 quart mixer if you were wondering.
I could not do this without them, and a very good level of organization. Oh and you gotta be good at doing lots of dishes too lmaooo. FML...
Well, I'm gonna relax for a bit with my book. I hope you have an awesome day where you are 😄 Thanks for vising me!
