Peace synonymous with love - TheInkwellCreative Nonfiction Writing Prompt #10
Peace is synonymous with harmony, not war between people or countries. In the biblical sense it is an emotional balance of the human being and of each individual with God, with the material world, with groups and individuals and with himself, in abundance and in the certainty of health, wealth, tranquility, human honor, the blessing of our heavenly father.
Storing hatred, resentment and envy in the heart hinders the personal and spiritual growth of the individual, that is, it does not allow him to move forward. This leads the person to feel frustrated, begins to decline and can even become ill.
When I started working at the university as a contract employee, my boss looked at me with bad eyes, he blamed everything bad that happened in the office on me and that filled me with resentment.
When I became permanent staff, I started to defend myself verbally. If I was scolded because I had arrived a little late for work at some point, I would tell my boss that something had happened.
A series of events happened that changed my character, I became somewhat aggressive, in front of my coworkers, my husband and my friends.
One day my friend Lisbeth came to the office, we had been classmates in high school, she was very happy to see me after so many years, however I treated her badly with much contempt. She didn't care how I received her because she was excited to see me.
One morning Lisbeth showed up at the office again, she invited me for coffee. When we were in the coffee shop she asked me why I had changed so much if I was such a sweet girl. At that moment I started to tell her all the bad things that had happened to me in the office, she just listened to me.
While I was at the office computer, I received a message on my cell phone, which said "I need you to come to the congregation today, I am going to introduce you to a very special person, who is going to help you with all your problems", it was Lisbeth inviting me to the church where she attended.
When I arrived at the church all the people who were there welcomed me with much affection as if they had known me all my life. We entered a room, took a chair each and sat in a circle.
Before starting the meeting we prayed and each one began to tell their personal experiences. When it was my turn I could not find where to start, my chest was going to explode like a bomb with so much rage stored in my heart, however I spoke and cried without ceasing, they listened to me attentively, they extended their helping hand to me.
Sister Fanny spoke to me and said: "The only way out of all your problems is Jesus Christ, he is the solution, accept him in your heart as your only God and sufficient savior" I prayed the prayer of faith and it was as if a sack of potatoes had been taken away from me.
Since then I congregate there, I can tell you that the peace God gives me is like no other.
