The last few days has been quite crazy for me.
Now, I know why @backpackingmonk suddenly dissappeared from discord. He used to be online 24/7( allegedly).
He discovered splinterlands. And now, he is busy in that game throughout the day.
Even when he hangout with us on @hive-india sessions, he remains silent mostly.( I believe he is playing splinterlands behind the scenes.)
Well, I got a similar taste of his addiction. I did not play splinterlands. Partly because I did not understand the game. And partly because it didn't felt interesting to me.
But I joined Dcity a couple of days ago. And from the very first day, I was addicted to the game. I am spending an insane amount of time exploring it. Insane here means 10-12 hours a day.
And doing so, I didn't follow my daily-- routine that I picked up during lockdown period. I didn't read in the last 3 days. I wasn't writing much. Didn't even looked at the daily goals.
Though this isn't my first time. In 2018, when I started playing pubg— I met some of my old friends after 7-8 years. We had so much to talk. We enjoyed so much playing the game. Ususally, our excitement made us play 6 hours daily. On weekends, we were playing for the whole night. And we started playing again the next afternoon when we woke up. Lol, those were some amazing days.
Anyways, I need to get back on my daily schedule. Because all of us have limited amount of time in this life. And I have wasted pretty much of mine in the last 25 years.
I was looking for something that could motivate me to get back on track. To start grinding daily as I was doing for the last two months.
And, in doing so-- I found a quote by Tony Robbins.
Nothing in life has any meaning except the meaning we give it.
Before discovering Dcity, reading and writing daily was exciting for me. Writing one post a day on hive used to give me a sense of accomplishment.
Now, finding new things on dcity, rolling cards, exploring things is giving me more excitement. Writing and reading looks boring.
I asked myself, what changed?
Well, nothing has changed. Only the meaning I am giving to my activities has changed. If I start giving meaning to writing as excitement again, it will be exciting again.
You choose the future with your actions each day
What you do daily-- is what you will get in the long term.
The beginning of this year was one of the worst times of my life. Not because something happened at that time. But because of what I did for the last 5 years.
I didn't do much in the last 5 years. Except chilling, travelling, earning some money here and there doing some side hustle online.
The thing was-- I wasn't even enjoying my chilling time. I was just wasting it.
It all compounded and I had an emotional breakdown in December last year. And for 3 months, I was depressed. Life had no more meaning for me. I was just lying on my bed for 3 months questioning myself why my life suck so much.
Then my parents forced me to move to a different country— Canada.
I tried, it was almost happening. I would have moved out of my country to Canada in September. And Covid-19 happened.
Again, I end up depressed. Feeling my destiny was to fail in everything I try.
Soon, something good happened. I discovered hive. I started talking with @sidwrites
@backpackingmonk and a couple of others.
And in a month, I wasn't feeling bad about myself anymore. I don't know what changed.
Another month later, I was reading more books, looking for more things I could do.
In June, I started writing daily, and been doing so till today.
Now, after reading Tony Robbins quote, I feel that things don't change. The meaning we give to them changes.
I don't feel more motivated now. I feel more understood about my life.
Well things have a way to change I guess.
A real decision is measured by the fact that you have taken action.
I have decided in the beginning of the June that I will take action no matter what. I will grind and work daily no matter if I happy or sad. Exhausted or thrilled. I will complete my daily goals.
So it's time to get back on action. Time to crush!
