A long time ago Americans have been colonized our country during WWII, to the bravery of our roots they fought our freedom until their last breath. Their weaponry is not that advanced and of high caliber to defend the motherland. All they have is their sword and brain by publishing quill-written revolution. How patriotic they are, risking their lives at the expense of a drowning country. Heroes were recognized and a part of the national history.
Let me introduce to you my new found friend Uncle Guy. He was a manager of a merchandising store in a company selling also products made from the Philippines and who happens to be a husband of my wife's Auntie. The sister of my mother-in-law. Do not be confused I'm the husband of my wife lol. They were based in Chicago, Illinois and visited back in the country to celebrate Christmas too.
My aunt sent me a message to look for a promo ticket going to Australia via Singapore and a cheap hotel good for 4 pax. She's planning to treat her longtime friend who helped her. She oriented me to their surprise and not to tell anyone even my wife. In suspicions that my wife may know it because of the Facebook post or conversation they had, she suddenly messages me to change the date in the next two years. In my vacant time and being always online, I search and provided it to her.
When December falls in our time, it was also the birthday of their deceased father. In our culture, we have this called "manyanita" where friends, relatives and group gathered to sing a birthday folk song in front of the birthday celebrant which their mother will represent in behalf of her husband. It was filled with different emotions, all were shocked that this couple is inside the bedroom with her mother. The surprise was effective but I was worried because I didn't see them I was at the back and react in shouting. In my mind that their mother might be got loose her consciousness or got a heart attacked. Since bedroom was located on the 2nd floor near the stairs, the group moves backward at their surprise and one of my wife's cousin nearly fall.
The celebration then follows successively they've set a children's party in McDonald's, Christmas Party at their house and went to a beach. Kids and adults enjoyed the program. Seeing authentic smile of this kids have a feeling contentment like you are infected with the childish happiness. A happy heart and this memory will never be forgotten until they grow. Every childhood moments affects a huge contribution to a human's personality. We personally thanks the couple that they initiated this and my little princess get bonded with her other cousins. For me, I also use this opportunity to get in touch and reach with my wife's relatives. To the innocent of a child and their surprise when mascot came out is another feeling your heart softens.
The night before they return home, it was a last minute gathering joining my wife's cousin and the brother of my mother-in-law. He stops drinking alcohol but instead we offer the red wine with zero content of alcohol and he tries it. A night of all boys talking about their way of living in the US. Topics are about the firecrackers, animals, cigarettes, traffic, myth creatures and each culture. Weather also is an issue it's warm here and as he said snow is thick in their place temperature drops to negative Fahrenheit degrees. He also shares his experience rescuing other people when hit by a blizzard. Without monitoring the time our discussion ended in the next morning at 1:00 AM.
Since it was a new experience meeting personally this couple and they were great. We agreed to come and accompany them to the airport. We arrived early and it was raining so they treat us again in McDonald. I became a crew listing the clan's order and I didn't make it right hahaha. There's table that foods were not served and they order again. All tummies were full then we came back to escort them to the Airport's entrance. Hugs are tights and I saw tears drop down to couple's cheek. I came to ponder why this couple has not given a kid and I believe God has the plan for them. What was this? God uses them as an instrument to provide happiness, support and as a human giving material things too. Thoughts of the couple are precious and high value for me, as I'm always avoiding and refusing when they try to give material things to me and my daughter. You may call it pride but it doesn't go that way, it was really my principle. I just sort out temporary things and kept the intangible one in this world. Priceless things touch our souls and it matters me the most made our life close to a literal eternal life.
