Ameyoko (candy store alley) was called as such because candies were traditionally sold there. Nowadays, clothes, bags, cosmetics, fresh fish, dried food and spices are sold along Ameyoko. I wouldn't recommend eating in the restaurants there because we got over-charged in one of our trips. The side dish offered we thought were for free actually cost 400+ yen!
