Although I stay in a winter rainfall area - and the rains have begun , I still try and save as much water as I can for the garden.
Last season, the water tap and copper piping was stolen - they just ripped it out of the wall!!
Well, my land lord has not replaced anything, so I have to rely on collecting rain water and by using buckets I water what I can.
We do not know how much rain is going to come this winter - some people say it is going to be a dry and cold winter and others say lots of rain - well, seeing that weather patterns seem to be changing world wide, I think saving water wherever one can should be a way of life.
Today I am sharing a photo of a small way that I collect some water - it is condensation from the roof and I get about one full bucket per day .
Some people fit flat hoses on to the down pipes and position them so that the water gets to various parts of the garden.
Having large water tanks is great and I would love to do that but the budget does not stretch that far.
Anyway, if every person does what they can that will be a good thing as water is precious.
