I planted some peas for the first time for a bit of fun and to see how they would do.

Well, now I wish that I had planted more as every day I am harvesting a handful of the most delicious sweet tasting peas.
Even my grandchildren were impressed by the sweet tasting peas - and for some, it was the first time that they had actually seen a pea pod!

That might sound crazy, but how many people still buy fresh peas - or even see them sold these days?
I can remember my grandmother sitting shelling peas as we grew up on a farm and had plenty of vegetables to eat.

Today we all buy frozen peas - which is easier, but it also brings to mind how children today are unaware of how things actually grow which is sad.
