What a blessing it is when I came into the office and a cleaning staff who has been a part-time hawker after she's widowed, decided to bless me with her special delivery-by-order Filipino recipe, Suman that she's trying to promote for those who want to order later.
So I am writing this to promote for her as she's been a Filipino widow (married to a Malaysian until he passed away) with her only son left in Malaysia for several years.
Wrapped in banana leaves first steamed and then roasted, the Suman she made is a already seasoned with a little sugar and coconut milk. You can actually store it in the fridge and take out for steaming later / you want to take it hot if you have left aside and cooled for a while.
I am usually not a huge fan for sweetened tapioca / cassava, but because this is light, soft (even if you microwave it later) and you can sprinkle it with a tiny bit of salt if you want it to have a little flavour, I really enjoyed it with black coffee.
She usually only make only per ordering because she's freelance, and she did it from scratch and not with premix.
Her option will be calling her for orders and you can go and pick up from her home later.
