Let's face it, we all learned a quote stated,
Never place all the eggs in the same basket
And it is true; even with fiat, we can't just rely on one source to keep our savings these days, especially the faithful Fix Deposits in Malaysia started with 10%, dropped to 3.5% for a good several years, to now recent 1.65% - 1.7% a year since Covid-19 started.
(Where the banks had to do a freeze loan payback moratorium for the public because of government's orders)
Sooner or later, things can go down really bad if this pandemic fear kept pressed on from many (politically biased) mainstream media.
Hence that is why, thanks to @khimgoh I started venturing a tiny bit into Nexo.io, and was saving up little by little for a DAI loan, only to realise that this can be very impossible to low amounts of transactions with ridiculous high transaction fees (up to 35 DAI) from exchanges.
And recently because I have also checked on Uphold Wallet because of free BAT revenue from Brave browser, I noticed that there's a new incentive dividend account for crypto:
Since I totally love the fastest and easiest way to fund crypto via 3.5% credit card charges and ZERO trading fees and transfer fees, I think this is kind of a mini ideal place to check it out if they have an in-bound partnership with passive dividend.
I am actually quite impressed with the wide range of cryptos available; although some of them are as low as 2% per anmum (probably it is too volatile), but the stable coins look decent at a 6% without a Premium account.
Besides a standard account already required KYC (relying on Uphold wallet's verification), I guess it is pretty solid to say this partnership won't run away in a month's time.
And even as low as 25 USD worth of BAT could potentially have a nice % return.
Interestingly, the payout is in USD? 🤔
Probably the only drawback is that the lockup for compounding interest is up to 6 months.
A lot of things can happened in 6 months.
Since my stake is so little having a simple Interest type where I get a monthly dividend, lower than compounding one go interest at the end of the 6 months tenure, I feel a little more "secured".
Even though the term is still 6 month's locked up.
And this tenure hasn't started. It will start on 15th September, and I just have my $25 USD worth of fiat and BAT earnings all the way booked for my slot.
Let's see what happens in 15 October, when the first month matures.
So far, I still think Nexo.io looks pretty cool enough, but I haven't tried withdrawing yet. I will probably need to wait until my interest accumulated is equivalent to my transaction fee used and I will just try withdrawing that out first for other use in, estimated also in a month's time.
What do you think?
With fiat Fixed Deposit is so weak now (I am not sure about your country's interest) and hardly any dividend in the savings account, would you bank on saving aside some crypto which is almost double the interest rate?
