Hey HIVE community, it has been a while indeed!

Time truly flies and I must say I wasn't dead, nor was I no longer feel the love of writing; but there were reasons I deliberately not engage with any writing or social media, at the same time, it was also I didn't get enough steps so I wasn't thrilled to share my below par activities 馃槀

So, where WAS I?

  1. Busy with the choir
    alt

I have always been busy as usual, with the choir, and moreover with multi-generations in the team now (as you have noticed the age groups shown here), there is actually more work for me because this requires a lot more thought and planning to make sure that all ages, experienced and rookie were able to freely worship without too much restrain and tension of learning.

alt

Not to mention that I have been learning a lot more to isolate sounds and "slurs" from main vocalist to help the choir to hear better; and often times I will need to re-record the melody and harmony separately in order to make sure everyone hears their parts well.

  1. Going through 40 days Prayer and Fasting for my country
    alt
sample of the prayer and fasting - day 40 video
Every year, my country's Christian churches and perishes will practice a devotional journey of praying for the country and its leaders as we understood clearly that none of us are perfect, especially leaders, and it is more important to pray for wisdom and humility for them and ourselves too.

And often times I also have to listen through first before I send it out to my Bible study home fellowship.

We ended the final 40th day with prayer gathering for the country

  1. Deep dive in one of the most controversial bible book every - the Song of songs (not really songs of Solomon apparently)
    alt

It was one of the funniest class I ever attended, with a lecturer who simply is still madly in love with his wife even after 35 years; because this is a book of love. And to have that vividly described how the Israelites understood poetry was definitely super funny and entertaining, to the point that the ladies were blushing, and their husbands were grinning. 馃槀

(I think aikido.hung@aikido.hung was equally amused with what I shared hahaha!)

Wait... why on earth was I there in THAT class at the first place??

Simply because, I am one of the Bible facilitating leaders and I need to be equipped (in context) so that I will be able to encourage struggling married couples to read it too.

  1. Battling in prayers for a friend's husband

alt
The exhausted son who was totally worn out taking a nap at the lobby outside the ICU

The worse you would want to hear, is to hear a wife in shock, to find her husband rushed to Emergency Room when she was driving around 300 miles from her mother's funeral.

He battled for 13 days, with double hemorrhage; and I wished I could share with you the good news...

alt

But after battling close to 2 weeks, I know he would have recited 2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Right now, the wife is still struggling to settle the medical bill that, I think, close to RM270,000 bill with no insurance coverage because he was a dialysis patient.

We can only say that at least, he no longer needs to suffer anymore.

alt

I tried to seek help, and thank God because of the book publishing application was a success, books I prepared for sale went into fund raising, where all proceeds went straight to help the medical bill....

But it still wasn't enough, unfortunately.

  1. Getting my books sold on a charitable local store and online shop

alt

One of the milestone that was never pre-planned. But a bucket list that I never knew I needed to fulfill.

What a steep learning curve for it, and even I am not able to recover enough as break even (because I used 40% of my books to raise funds) but it was still something that was worth doing.

And now if ever anyone wants to locally publish a book in Malaysia, I will know how to do so.

  1. Learning something must un thought of... image rendering with A.I

alt

Studying studio portraits, understanding subjects and learning promptings to tame the ChatGPT (that often goes rogue) is very challenging, even with a subscribed account! And this is something that I actually find it very challenging but intriguing, since I already been using it to help me with my book cover.

alt
With precise prompting after endless tries

But that was totally not the same because it is illustration, and surprisingly when it is done in this manner, it is more accurate than realistic photos, which you can easily spot the "weird compilation" or missing / additional limbs coming out. haha...

And that's it, so far, this is just the first half of it, and I should bore you with too much writing, so stay tuned to more adventures and discoveries I have offline whenever I get the time to write, hopefully soon!
