Valeria y Jonás se conocieron en la universidad, ella estudiante de Contaduría y él de Leyes y a pesar de cursar carreras distintas, las actividades extracurriculares los mantenía unidos como compañeros. Al lograr lo más anhelado para ambos que era el título universitario, cada quien tomó diferente rumbo manteniendo el contacto por redes sociales.

Jonás se inició en el bufete de su padre, quien con mano dura le enseñaba el pro y el contra de una carrera catalogada por muchos como corrupta. Por otro lado, Valeria llevó varios tropiezos, su primer empleo fue como cajera de una pizzería, luego atendió las mesas hasta que gracias a su simpatía y honestidad su jefe la recomendó con un amigo y le brindaron la oportunidad para ingresar como auxiliar contable en una prestigiosa firma de contadores de la ciudad.

Transcurrieron tres años y los egresados de aquella promoción organizaron un reencuentro para pasar el fin de semana en una casa de playa, a la que asistieron veinte amigos, incluyendo a Valeria y Jonás. Música, comida, licor y un sinfín de anécdotas estuvieron presente durante dos días. A partir de ese encuentro, nació un romance entre Valeria y Jonás, quienes se mantenían solteros y sin ningún compromiso.

Al cabo de cinco años y con la responsabilidad que amerita el caso, la pareja estaba esperando su primera hija. Las familias organizaron un hermoso baby shower llenando de regalos la vivienda. Una gran cantidad de personas acompañaron a Valeria y Jonás, entre compañeros de trabajo, amigos de la universidad y familiares, después un mes nació la pequeña Julieta.

Para el momento del parto Valeria sufrió un sangrado inesperado, lo que puso al equipo de médicos a correr para estabilizarla, esto dio pie para que se llevaran de la sala de partos a la recién nacida de manera inmediata. Una vez en la habitación Valeria recibió a su hija por primera vez, las lágrimas se deslizaron de tanto amor que su pequeña hija le hacía sentir. Todos los presentes estaban emocionados con Julieta, era el centro de atención. La primera nieta para las dos familias.

Al ser dadas de alta, se dirigieron a su hogar para emprender una nueva etapa de sus vidas. La mamá de Valeria con la niña en brazos trataba de buscarle el parecido con algún miembro de la familia y no lo encontraba. Valeria, molesta por la imprudencia de su madre, le decía que era una recién nacida y tenía que darle tiempo para crecer y era normal que no se pareciera a ninguno de ellos, pero la señora insistía, ya que sus tres hijas al nacer se parecían a ella (su madre).

Después de una semana, Julieta no se adaptaba a su nuevo hogar, no lograba alimentarse del pecho de su madre, no dormía y no dejaba de llorar. Todos decían que la recién nacida necesitaba tiempo, pero Valeria se estaba desesperando a ver a su hija que no lograba avanzar. Pidió una cita con la pediatra y ella les informó que la niña sufría de una enfermedad como consecuencia del consumo de estupefacientes durante el embarazo. Jonás y Valeria se quedaron asombrados, pues ninguno de los dos era adicto a las drogas, nunca las habían probado ni siquiera en la universidad.

Enseguida las palabras de la mamá de Valeria retumbaron su cabeza e imaginó lo peor. Le solicitó a la doctora realizar una prueba de ADN, ahora sospechaba que esa pequeña no era su hija. Con el ambiente confuso, al siguiente día acudieron a efectuar la prueba y los resultados demorarían dos semanas en ser entregados. Mientras tanto, la niña empezó a recibir tratamiento médico y mejorar cada día, sin olvidar que condicionaría atención especial los primeros años de vida y esto marcaría su desenvolvimiento.

Julieta cumplía un mes y los resultados de la prueba de ADN estaban en un sobre en manos de Valeria, se encontraban en la clínica. Al abrir y leer los resultados se dieron cuenta de que la pequeña no era la hija del feliz matrimonio. De pronto el llanto se apoderó del lugar. — ¿Dónde está mi hija? Dígame doctora, —gritó Valeria—.

De inmediato, la doctora se comunicó con las autoridades de la clínica para exponer el caso. La policía se hizo presente y las averiguaciones iniciaron al instante. En seguida le dijeron a Valeria que podía llevar a la pequeña a un hogar provisional mientras se aclaraba la situación. Luego de un largo mes dieron con la verdad. Ana, una joven adolescente adicta a las drogas y hermana de una enfermera, había parido el mismo día y en el mismo hospital que Valeria. Elena, la enfermera y hermana de Ana, decidió cambiar a las niñas, pues sabía que su sobrina sufriría las consecuencias del consumo de drogas de su hermana y el plan era vender a la pequeña. Si el comprador notaba algo fuera de lo normal, no querría cerrar el negocio, por lo que decidió llevarse una bebe sana intercambiando a las recién nacidas.

Por suerte la hija de Valeria y Jonás aún se encontraba en casa de Elena. La policía preguntó a Ana si se haría cargo su hija y esta respondió que no, al igual que Elena, dijeron que la darían en adopción. Al enterarse Valeria y Jonás del futuro que le esperaba a esa inocente, decidieron adoptarla ellos, ya sitian gran amor por ella y la estaban cuidando desde su nacimiento. No tenían corazón para dejarla en manos ajenas. La justicia se encargó de Ana y Elena.

After five years and with the responsibility that the case deserves, the couple was expecting their first daughter. The families organized a beautiful baby shower and filled the house with gifts. After a week, Julieta did not adapt to her new home, she could not feed from her mother's breast, did not sleep and did not stop crying. Everyone said that the newborn needed time, but Valeria was getting desperate to see her daughter who was not making any progress. She made an appointment with the pediatrician and she informed them that the child was suffering from a disease resulting from the consumption of narcotics during pregnancy. Immediately Valeria's mother's words rang in his head and he imagined the worst. She asked the doctor to perform a DNA test, now she suspected that this little girl was not her daughter. In a confused atmosphere, the next day they went for the test and the results would take two weeks to be delivered. In the meantime, the girl began to receive medical treatment and to improve every day, without forgetting that she would need special attention during the first years of her life and this would mark her development.

Julieta was one month old and the results of the DNA test were in an envelope in Valeria's hands, they were at the clinic. When they opened the envelope and read the results, they realized that the little girl was not the happy couple's daughter. Suddenly the place was filled with tears. — Where is my daughter? The doctor immediately contacted the clinic authorities to explain the case. The police arrived and investigations began immediately. Valeria was immediately told that she could take the little girl to a temporary home while the situation was being clarified. When she saw her husband, she knew that neither of them would agree with the action and they decided to continue caring for her while they located her parents.

After a long month they found out the truth. Ana, a young teenage drug addict and sister of a nurse, had given birth on the same day and in the same hospital as Valeria. Elena, the nurse and Ana's sister, decided to switch the girls, because she knew that her niece would suffer the consequences of her sister's drug use and the plan was to sell the little girl. If the buyer noticed anything out of the ordinary, he would not want to close the deal, so she decided to take a healthy baby girl and exchange the newborns.

Luckily Valeria and Jonas' daughter was still at Elena's house. The police asked Ana if she would take care of her daughter and she said no, just like Elena, they said they would give her up for adoption. When Valeria and Jonas found out about the future that awaited this innocent girl, they decided to adopt her themselves, they already had a great love for her and had been taking care of her since her birth. They did not have the heart to leave her in someone else's hands. Justice took care of Ana and Elena.
