Those were good days... Spring. The first heat.
I am so rarely in the center of my ancient city. And Lviv, by the way, is one big coffee shop!:)
The arrival of friends always brings something positive to our life, takes away from the routine, helps to look at the native city from a different side!
My friend Olya is a big lover of Lviv. We have known each other for more than 8 years and she has been here several times, but because of the war, the trips stopped. Living in a dangerous area of our capital, my friend was even forced to evacuate abroad for a while.
All tourists, being in this city, visit certain cafes and restaurants that have already become iconic. Among them is "Lviv Coffee Mine" ("Kopalnya kavy"). This is a large coffee shop that has several halls, a courtyard with a covered roof and even... a dungeon. According to legend, coffee is extracted here in... a mine.
Most tourists want to get to the deepest part of the facility, so my friends and I also went there. My friend's boyfriend has never been here, and I'm not a frequent visitor to coffee shops either.
At first we were given helmets, because there are many low doors. The dungeon has a very interesting and mystical atmosphere! There is also a well from which coffee is supposedly extracted, and a slightly scary man-watchman, and a wish pickaxe, and a telephone for communication... I don't even know who.
And this is really coffee mixed with garbage...
A catch for tourists. To make your wish come true, hold the handle of the pickaxe.
The brownie was very tasty, and the portion was huge 😍
The menu in each of the cafe halls is different. So I hope to tell you a little more about other parts of the cafe another time. This time, my friends and I ordered coffee liqueur, sweets and "soldered coffee". It's basically a latte with sugar, and sugar forms a crispy crust when heated. Tasty and original.
Although it is a little scary when this flame is burning in front of your face. Maybe somewhere else there is such a way? But I didn't see this anywhere else. This is a feature of this place.
We talked a lot with friends. Mostly about the situation in the country, about the war and plans for the future. It's a pity that these are such topics nowadays.
Afterwards, we walked around the entire cafe area, where you can see a lot of beautiful things. There is a large shop with different types of coffee, tea, coffee additives (such as different syrups), souvenirs and other small things. The design of each product is very bright and creative, so that the tourist can take a piece of the city with him. The coffee can be drunk quite quickly, and the beautiful metal box will remain as a wonderful memory and as a useful organizer for other needs.
I really liked this dresser with a lot of trinkets. I love old restored furniture.
Well, see you, magical mine of coffee! We will definitely be back :)
And later we walked a little through the streets of the city. Ancient houses and churches, as always, attracted the eye and appeared new, unknown.
Already near my tram stop, we saw a new fountain. Its grand opening took place on that day. The plaque indicates that it is dedicated to the hero of Ukraine, a warrior from pseudo Da Vinci.
God, let this war end soon...
