The Memorial Temple of the Birth of Christ and Regional ethnographic museum Etar
Hello dear Hivers! Today I will take you and show you two incredibly beautiful places in my country Bulgaria.
The first is The Memorial Temple of the Birth of Christ. The monastery is located in the town of Shipka. It is located at the foot of Balkan Mountains and is very close to the town of Kazanlak. The monastery itself is unique and a work of art. It was built in honor of those killed in the Russo-Turkish War in the late 19th century. It is of great historical importance for all Bulgarians and has been declared a cultural monument. In the basements of the temple are stored the bones of several thousand soldiers who died for the freedom of Bulgaria. The place brings great energy and is very beautiful. It is worth visiting and capturing a piece of the glorious Bulgarian history.
And if you decide to visit the monastery and you are around, I advise you to go through Regional ethnographic museum Etar. It is located on the other side of the mountain, where you can reach through the Shipka pass. It is located just a few kilometers from the center of Gabrovo and is an open-air museum. This is the first such museum in the country. The place is perfect for walking and spending free time. There you will get acquainted with the Bulgarian way of life, culture, traditions and crafts. Be sure to try some of the unique homemade delicacies. There is something for everyone - both sweet and salty. And why not take something home. You can also get a souvenir or something else that characterizes Bulgarian culture.
We visited the place when the weather was rainy and therefore it was quite empty. But on a sunny day the meadows and paths are filled with people and small children who have come to rest and enjoy the beautiful Bulgarian nature.
