I recently made the hour drive down to Apollo Beach in an attempt to get a few sunset shots with the city in the background. Due to some unexpected traffic, I probably got there a bit too late to get all the shots I wanted but was still happy with the few decent shots that came out of the trip.
Fortunately I still got there in time to try a few long exposures with the city back-lit by the setting Sun. It also turned out to be quite a gorgeous red sky as the Sun disappeared over the horizon providing a nice red glow to everything. Wish I had gone fishing the following day because as the saying goes: "Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailor take warning."
These pictures were taken from the Apollo Beach Nature Park and the city skyline you see across the waters of Tampa Bay is that of downtown St. Petersburg.
