This church was damaged during the sencond worldwar and wasn't rebuilt since it was kept as a memorial site. The original church on the site was built in the 1890s. It was badly damaged in a bombing raid in 1943 during World War II. Since then the towers were not rebuilt and the church remains as a memorial. It is situated near the Zoologischer Garten in Berlin. I can remember that we read a book in School of a heroin and drug addicted girl, Christiane F. "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" that described the live of the girl at the drug scene there in the 80is.
