Gulab Jamun occupies top place in my heart among other Indian sweets and snacks. It's really difficult to stand against its sweet taste eventhough it has lot of fat content. The three popular ingredients that makes this one delicious are: sweet milk, cardamom and rose syrup. The first word of this sweet "Gulab" means rose. It is an Indian word. In many of the popular religious occasions, this one is typically served as a dessert after the meal.

This one was prepared by my one of my friend whose one of the hobby was cooking. The Gulab Jamun was made from Mawa or Khoya. The maida (refined wheat flour) is mixed with Mawa along with sugar, baking powder and cardamom powder and then kneaded to form a dough. Little pieces is taken out of it and then converted to a consistent round circle without leaving any cracks. In a medium frying oil, the dough is cooked until it turns into golden brown. After being cooked, it is placed in a rose syrup. Some of them turns to be overcooked and turned black but still it was ok to eat.
