The night is high, the ravens stalk
The freezing wind embraces me
While we were out for a walk

I saw a warm glow of light in your eyes
I saw you bring out that great smile
I saw you melt the cold ice

I remembered everything in the past
We used to go home together
But I knew it wasn't going to last

For as old age has caught up to you
Made you unable to walk with me
And your life to become blue

The pain of life, the pain of suffering
I saw you endure through it all
And to God, you were always believing

That someday all of it might end
That the pain will dissolve
That you may be able to apprehend

On why these things happen to you
Why such life has been given
To be given the truth

I pray to God that it will all end
May you be healed from the pain
Or expect your inevitable end

Life with you was worth living
I wish for no other person
Faithful, lovely, and the joy you bring.

I wrote this poem in honor of my grandmother. Right now, she is in the hospital and is on life support. She has battled through a lot of diseases in the recent years. She was diagnosed with Diabetes and had to have her right leg amputated. In the past few months, it was discovered that she has 3 tumors in her brain. It could have been operated or some sort but due to her weak body, the operation didn't follow through. My grandma was once a teacher, she always had my back during my elementary years. This might be a long shot but I ask and pray for your help, dear steemers. Please upvote and resteem and most importantly, pray for my lola even if its just in your head. I hope she will get better over time. God bless steemians.
