Splinterlands Art Contest - Igor Darkspear

Hello everyone, It's another beautiful day and I wish you an amazing one. It's another round of the splinterlands art contest and this is my submission.

Hola a todos, es otro hermoso día y espero que tengan uno increíble. Es otra ronda del concurso de arte splinterlands y esta es mi presentación.

For this round I was torn between recreating the watercaller and Igor Darkspear so I ended up with Igor. I really love how simple this card is, love the blue tones and I also thought it would be nice to paint short hair.

Para esta ronda estaba indecisa entre recrear al llamador de agua o a Igor Darkspear así que acabé con Igor. Me encanta lo sencilla que es esta carta, me encantan los tonos azules y también pensé que estaría bien pintar el pelo corto.

Process

Proceso

I started with a sketch after deciding on the pose I wanted, getting the pose wasn't really easy because I'm still practicing poses and hands. When I was done with that I went on to paint the base colours for the skin, hair, clothes, jewellery and spear. What I like most about this work is the hair, the shell of the jewellery and the clothes.

Empecé con un boceto después de decidir la pose que quería, conseguir la pose no fue realmente fácil porque todavía estoy practicando poses y manos. Cuando terminé con eso pasé a pintar los colores base para la piel, el pelo, la ropa, las joyas y la lanza. Lo que más me gusta de este trabajo es el pelo, la concha de las joyas y la ropa.

After painting her facial features, I then painted lighter and darker highlights on her skin,also added blue to some part of her skin as you can see below. I added more details to her clothes and hair, painting her jewellry on her hand and neck was also fun especially the shell, I'm glad it turned out well. Then I painted more details on her fin and spear, I always add some type of glow to my work so I created a new layer, set the blending mode to colour dodge. I added glow to a part of her hair, face, eyeballs. I added little stars on her skin too, working with this colours were fun and I really enjoyed it.

Despues de pintar sus rasgos faciales, pinte mas claros y mas oscuros en su piel, tambien agregue azul a algunas partes de su piel como pueden ver abajo. Añadí más detalles a su ropa y pelo, pintar sus joyas en la mano y el cuello también fue divertido, especialmente la concha, me alegro de que saliera bien. Despues pinte mas detalles en su aleta y lanza, siempre agrego algun tipo de brillo a mi trabajo asi que cree una nueva capa, puse el modo de mezcla en difuminar color. Añadí brillo a una parte de su pelo, cara y ojos. También añadí pequeñas estrellas en su piel, trabajar con estos colores fue divertido y realmente lo disfruté.
