My toddler loves doing things for himself. Whenever I ask him if he can do something, his answer is always “Easy peasy!”
It does not matter what the task is even if it is clearly beyond his little hands, he is still convinced he can do it .
Most times i offer to help but he confidently decline.
“Do you want Mummy to help you?”
“No, Mummy"
And off he goes.
The funny part is that “easy peasy” does not necessarily mean easy. It can mean hours of struggling, several failed attempts, a lot of determination, and ocasionally, tears.
There are days when he will spend hours trying to figure something out. I will keep offering to help, and he will keep refusing because, apparently, he believes can do it.
Then, after hours of trying, he Will burst into tears.
But on the days he finally gets it right, he smiles and proudly say
“Mummy, easy peasy!”
