It is called Calliphora vomitoria. It is also known as the "blow fly" or "bottle fly." It is around 1 cm long. It has metallic blue skin with orange cheeks. The eyes are brown. It has some fur on its body.
The bluebottle fly is known to carry diseases such as typhoid, E. coli, tuberculosis, and many others.

This afternoon, I got the blue bottle fly perched on flowers in a grassy area. I was amazed by the sparkling blue color of its body. Then, I tried to take some photos.
A few days before, I found this insect in a different place, but it was very active, so I could not get the best shots. This afternoon, I was lucky, the fly was not so active. It was not disturbed by my presence. It moved to another flower and kept quiet. I thought the fly was old or sick.
The insect was alone in the grassy area. There is a sharp needle on its mouth.
The lifecycle of a bluebottle fly is pretty short. Eggs hatch in roughly 0–18 hrs, and the larva stage lasts 2-3 days. The pupae stage lasts around two weeks, and adults become mature in about two weeks, breeding in mostly meat derived substances or sometimes cheese.
