Hello to all the Snaperinos! 🌱🚴♂️
It has become a tradition for me to head out to the countryside every Friday to help my friend with his crops. We get up very early and leave for the farm at around 7:30 a.m. We make the trip by bicycle, covering a not-so-insignificant nine kilometers each way, for a total of 18 kilometers.
I always make sure my #Actifit app is working properly to track my activity and keep my posting streak alive in this community.
Sometimes I feel like stopping along the way to take some pictures, but time and the sun are not on our side. Working in the fields under the scorching sun of my country is no joke! ☀️🥵
By around 8 a.m., we are already arriving at the farm. I took this first photo as the sun was rising:
Once there, we pick up our tools depending on the work that needs to be done. Sometimes we use a hoe to remove weeds, sometimes a machete to cut the grass, and other times we prepare the planting rows for short-cycle crops such as green beans, sweet potatoes, plantains, pumpkins, cassava, peppers, and others.
Here you can see how overgrown the path alongside the planting row was with weeds, along with the tool we used for the job: the hoe:
And here it is after we finished clearing the path:
One of the fastest-growing crops, and one that is very popular, is green beans. Here I'm sharing a glimpse of their flowering stage and their beautiful colors. 🌼🌿
These were planted less than 20 days ago, and the blessed rains of September and October have helped them grow remarkably fast!
