Friends near and far share this day in similar ways

Some visit with family, others avoid eating red meat, and many attend church. It's always fun to see everyone reconnecting at church. So many friends check off their annual church visit during Easter and Christmas. Did you make it to church service or mass this weekend? I've never avoided eating anything during Resurrection Sunday. At work, a few Friends has mentioned it was a common practice.

What traditions do you follow during the holidays?

In our household, we typically eat lunch together or BBQ in the backyard. Attend church like we usually do on Sundays. Since I attend an American Church, which host service is in the morning. My parents attend a Brazilian church, which hosts church service in the evening. This year they accepted my invitation and came to church with me.

Family time and food are consumed near and far.

After church, we went out to their favorite Columbian restaurant and had some fried fish, quesadilla, and juice. It was divine! The typical afternoon nap soon followed. Well, they took a nap. I ran some errands then came home to catch up on my shows. There is a new Netflix special called, Bringing Sexy Back. It is about overweight individuals in Australia that want help losing weight for a lifestyle change.

Reminds me of the show the Biggest Loser. That show ended up being terrible for the candidates because it wasn't a healthy weight loss or lifestyle change. It was entertaining at the time and it's sad to see the weight return and the damage that type of weight loss caused on their long term health. Most of the weight loss shows since then has made sure to be more cautious.

Tradition or not, sending a virtual hug to you today.

It's amazing how many people are turned off by Christians and our holidays. I'm sorry you've been hurt by the church or the people of the church. Know that I love you, pray for you, and hope you can forgive them. Know despite all the judgments, that at times come from organized religion, you attempt to do good and spread kindness. Along with actions comes faith. It takes a lot of faith to believe in God and it takes a lot of faith to not believe in God.

Where ever you fall on the faith spectrum, whomever you consider family, and however, you choose to celebrate this weekend happy Easter and Resurrection weekend. God Bless you!
