The "Green Mountains" of Vermont are finally green again. It's very nice to see the grass green, the trees getting leaves and the flowers popping up.
One of my favorite views each spring is this Apple tree flowering in the back of our meadow. I just love sitting on the deck in the mornings now that it's warm, looking out, and listening to all the birds while I sip some nice coffee.

This tree is gorgeous to see in person, even more spectacular than the pics can justify.
The flowers are fantastic. I'm hoping this means lots of Apples this year!
I must say I am impressed at how this tree looks. Upon closer inspection, you can see that it is nearly split in half. It's been like this for the 2 years we've been here, and who knows how long?
Yes, this tree has seen it's history. Who knows how many generations of deer and other wildlife it has fed, and how many pies it has gone into for humans.
Perhaps one day it will become food for this giant Pileated Woodpecker. I was thrilled to see this fellow pecking on a nearby tree. Wish I had better camera for that one. These birds are truly impressive, about a foot tall! Hoping to catch him later in the year with the big lens.
