So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week, which is “CHOICE OR DISEASE”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “JUST A CITIZEN”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us about their thoughts on civilians facing backlash for the actions and decisions of their governments. Celebrities and athletes are major recipients of this, with many of them losing out on deals and major competitions due to the immoral acts carried out by their governments.
But then, we got to see that many times, those who faced backlash were those who chose not to speak up about the acts of their governments for one reason or the other. However, citizens shouldn’t be held responsible for the bad decisions of their leaders. Because many times, they’re already suffering for them. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w192e1; tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. THE WEIHT OF LABELS: HOW NATIONS JUDGE PEOPLES BY THE ACTIONS OF THEIR LEADERS by 
This author told us that when we assign labels to people simply for bad choices made by their leaders. The decisions and the conflicts our leaders get involved in, always affect the masses, it can’t be avoided because in one way or the other, the people will have to answer. While it isn’t fair, it’s just the way of the world. One that sadly, has only grown more prominent in recent time.
NO MATTER WHO IT HURTS: THE INJUSTICE OF PENALIZING CITIZENS FOR THE DECISIONS OF THEIR LEADERS by 
For this author, he talked about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and how the citizens of Russia got penalized for that. A lot of Russian athletes were prevented from partaking in international competitions, simply because of what their leader had done. He believes that a good citizen shouldn’t be labeled as a bad person just because of the kind of leader that they have.
LEADERS MAKE DECISIONS, CITIZENS BEAR THE COST by 
For this author, he talked about how the governments of the world go out of their way, passing policies and making rules, without a thought to how it affects the people they lead. The citizens bear the consequences of the conflicts they get involved in, while they remain in their ivory towers, living their best lives. The people keep paying for the bad choices of their leaders.
