My favorite temple : Sai Yai Temple, Nonthaburi Province, Thailand.
Hello everyone.
🖊️ I am a Buddhist who likes to make merit and pay respect to Buddha images at temples often. I don't remember how many temples I've been to all over Thailand. But the province that I have been to the most temples is Ayutthaya. Next would be Chiang Mai. The province where I just moved to live for 5 years. Many of the temples I have visited are all beautiful and impressive. But there are a few temples that I like and remember very well. One of them is Wat Sai Yai (วัดไทรใหญ่), Sai Noi Sub-district, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province. The oldest and famous temple in Nonthaburi Province .
🖊️ If friends come to Nonthaburi and you want to visit the temple, I think someone must recommend this temple for sure. The highlight of this temple besides the beautiful chapel. I think the floating market that is open to the vendors is another interesting thing. But today I didn't share the floating market. If friends are interested, you can see from my old posts because I used to come to this floating market often. When I came to visit my mother in Nonthaburi province.
🖊️ Brief history of Wat Sai Yai As I said, it is an old temple in Nonthaburi province. This temple is 155 years old and was built in A.D. 1867. The principal Buddha image of Wat Sai Yai is called Luang Por Thongkham (หลวงพ่อทองคำ). Wat Sai Yai was formerly known as Wat Maha Nikrotharam (วัดมหานิโครธาราม). Later the name was changed to Wat Sai Yai because people call this name easier.
Thanks for the information from Wikipedia.
