Hello, my friends. What a pleasure to greet you again and return to this community. I hope you are all enjoying an excellent day.

Today I want to share my joy with you. Almost two years ago I bought my little house. Yes, my little house with a patio, the one I dreamed of so much and that finally came to me. When I bought it, the blessed house had a thousand things to do, but what bothered me most was the doorway. A doorway of pure bare cement, cold, sad, without any charm at all. It looked more like the entrance to a warehouse than the house of a woman who respects herself.

I looked at that cement every day and said to myself: "Kenia, this has to be fixed, but with what money?" Because one thing is wanting and another is being able, and things aren't in a state to be throwing money at luxuries. So the doorway stayed there, bare and ugly, enduring sun and rain like a warrior.

But look at how the things of life are. About fifteen days ago, my friend Raiza, the one who is better than bread, calls me on the phone and says: "Hey, didn't you want to fix your doorway?" I tell her yes, but that I was waiting to see when I could. And she, with that conspiratorial voice she gets, lets out: "Well, I have a bunch of recycled tiles left over from a job. If you want them, they're yours."

I almost jumped through the phone. I said yes before she finished talking. The next day I sent my son to her house and he brought back a wheelbarrow full of scraps. And when I say scraps, that also includes some whole tiles. Imagine: tiles of various colors, sizes, and shapes. There were black ones, white ones, green ones, cream-colored ones, some big ones and other tiny ones. A jumble that seemed like nobody would want, but I looked at it and saw pure gold.

Right away I looked for a neighbor who is a mason and we started gluing the tiles that weekend. I'm no expert, but I was clear about what I wanted: something different. At first I was nervous, thinking it was going to turn out a mess. But the more tiles that were glued, the prettier it got, seeking out combinations and shapes.

Y yo feliz y orgullosa.

What came out, at least in my opinion, was an incredible thing. A unique design, without a pattern, without rules, without any of that. Each tile went where it wanted, and the result looks like a Picasso painting, I swear. It has parts with lines that cross, colors that clash and embrace, shapes that shouldn't be together but there they look perfect. The neighbors passed by and praised it. "How beautiful that's turning out," they said. And I was happy and proud.

Now I sit on my doorway every afternoon with my little coffee and I just stare at it like a fool. Because there's no other one like it in the whole neighborhood, nor on the whole block, nor in the whole town, nor in the whole municipality, nor in the whole province, nor in the whole country, nor in the whole world 🤭. It's authentic, original, and exclusive. It's my doorway, made from the leftovers that others threw away, with the generosity of a friend. Because this world is a chain and what some won't use, others will. That's why, when life gives you scraps, make yourself a Picasso. Sometimes what looks like garbage is what shines the most. And my doorway is living proof.
