When I was twelve, I began to see a detached child who typically minded his own business. I generally observed either individuals gazing at him and whispering to others about him or deliberately disregarding him, not trying to ask even what his name was.

The children at my school weren't the most pleasant, at the same time, of course, they weren't the meanest either. It had been a year since I exchanged from a school in an extremely poor zone with minor, feeble classrooms that I wouldn't call a "school." Kids here had been so mean I couldn't envision they could live with themselves.

This child helped me to remember that school; how he was the focal point of undesirable, horrendous consideration. At some point, while I was having lunch, I saw him, sitting far from every other person, eating independent from anyone else. He had weight issues and was around 110 pounds, what I gauged, overweight. I asked him what his name was. It took a while, however in the end he said "Alex."
