I listen, I don't judge.
There was a boy who had loved music for as long as he could remember. While other children were playing football after school, he would sit outside with an old notebook, writing lyrics nobody would ever hear.
As he grew older, his parents had only one dream for him to finish school, get a degree, find a good job, and live a comfortable life. They weren't against music; they just didn't believe it could pay the bills.
When he got into university, he tried to balance both worlds. He attended classes during the day and recorded songs at night. He slept very little, missed lectures, and started failing exams.
One day he made the hardest decision of his life. He told his parents he wanted to leave school and focus on music full-time.
The house became silent.
His father refused to speak to him for weeks. His mother cried almost every day, hoping he would change his mind. Relatives called him irresponsible. His friends said he was ruining his future.
Still, he packed a small bag, left home, and moved into a tiny room with two friends who also dreamed of making it in music.
Reality hit immediately.
Some days they had nothing but noodles to eat. Other days they skipped meals completely. The landlord kept asking for rent. Their electricity was disconnected more than once.
He sent songs to producers. Most never replied.
Those who did often asked for money he didn't have.
He traveled across the city just to hear, "We'll call you."
The call never came.
His first song got fewer than 100 streams.
His second did even worse.
He started wondering if everyone had been right.
To survive, he worked at a small restaurant washing dishes in the evenings. He used almost every paycheck to pay for studio sessions.
He sold his laptop.
Then his phone.
Eventually he sold the keyboard he had used to write his first songs.
There were nights he slept on the studio floor because he couldn't afford transport home.
A close friend who had promised to help him disappeared after borrowing money.
Another friend leaked one of his unreleased songs.
Someone even uploaded his music under another name.
He almost gave up.
Then one night, he begged to perform in a musical concert for free and that is what changed everything.
He sang out sorrow out of many.
Everyone was amazed at the passion and energy he uses to sing.
And right after that concert, a lot of connections came in and boom, he's gone for greatness.
