To me, bad parenting is not about parents making mistakes. No parent is perfect, and every child will experience moments of correction or disappointment. I believe bad parenting begins when a child is constantly treated with neglect, fear, insults, or a lack of love. A child needs guidance, but they also need to know they are valued.
Growing up, I had a neighbor whose family made me think deeply about this. The father is an I don't care kind of person that pays no attention to what is happening in his home. The wife in the other hand, is a workaholic because of the husband negligence she has to work harder to provide.
The children becomes free to air, doing as they please with no one available to caution and correct them.
One of the girls is pregnant as I speak and she's barely sixteen years of age.
And how about parents who are so hard on there children, that's the way of discipline, the child grows in fear and not respect
When a child grows up believing they are never good enough, they may carry those feelings into adulthood. Some end up struggling to trust people, while others become angry because that is all they have ever known.
However, I also believe a child's future is not completely decided by their upbringing. I have seen people who had difficult childhoods become responsible adults because someone else believed in them. A caring teacher, a supportive relative, a good friend, or even a mentor can help a child discover their worth. People can learn from painful experiences and choose to become different from the parents who hurt them.
For me, good parenting is not about having money or giving children everything they ask for. It is about being present, listening, teaching with patience, and correcting with love. Children remember how they were treated far longer than they remember what they were given. That is why I believe parents have one of the greatest responsibilities in shaping not only their children's future but also the future of society
Thank you for going through my entry.
Peace out.
