Hey, Hive! I’m writing from the road. Currently, at the historic Menger Hotel in San Antonio. This is a travel blog, so fair warning, its going to be all over the place. Firstly, why am I here? Remember when Texas had a near state-wide power grid failure? Well, I have several shoots booked and had to cancel them because of that over a year ago. This trip was about finishing those shoots, mostly so I didn’t have to refund the deposits. I have friends here and Austin, especially, is a really cool city I was happy to visit again. Now, getting here…that’s a story.
I brought the Tesla Model Y and this was the first time I’ve take it on a real road trip. 
Once I got to Dallas, I met with my friend Neha. We went to an amazing Indian restaurant, recommended by her. She is Indian herself, which faired well how good this would be, especially after a 20 hours on the road. It didn’t disappoint and after eating, we made our way and checked in to my hotel. Typically, going straight in to shoots after a brutally long trip is something I try to avoid, but our schedules just barely coincided. We’ve been internet friends for years and I was on a bit of a creative high after the first photos. I love this first shot.
From there, I made my way to San Antonio, my current location. I booked a few nights here at The Menger hotel at great expense for a shoot that was suppose to take place this afternoon. The client cancelled, which was a terrible way to start my morning. Rather than stew over it, I texted me friend Liv asking how spontaneous she could be. We made plans and within a few hours she arrived, ready to shoot. I have to say, easily my favorite photos we’ve taken together! I’ll be sharing some of them tomorrow. For now, it’s time to rest!
