Hey, Hive! How’s it going? I’m in Columbus, OH for the night, stopping at a hotel, charging the car, which is convenient. It was a long day. We got some upsetting news that 
Alright. Once or twice a month, I do a series of black and white photos. Just select images that I’ve shot and edited in color, but never took the time to convert to black and white. This is my opportunity to do that and share these images. This first shot is of my friend Lisa, shot in Death Valley, CA. She and I have a broad body of work together from over the years, but this was our most ambitious shoot. She booked an electric stay at a commune type space in the middle of the desert. On the way there, as the sun was setting, we pulled over and shot this iconic image.
This second shot is of a well known pinup model from Los Angeles named Doris Mayday. She was one of my first shoots in LA. After a year or so of getting my name out there on the west coast, I was eventually hired to shoot a look book for a prominent vintage inspired clothing company. Doris was one of the three models that day this photo was taken at Castle Green in Pasadena. Her gaze is striking and it’s a high contrast portrait taken with a 50mm lens. I always suspected it would make a strong monochrome, and I was pleased to see the result.
Lastly, this fetish photo is of my friend Marie Devilreux; a famous burlesque performer and model living in The UK. This was during our first shoot together during Viva Las Vegas at The Artisan Hotel. She came with an assortment of latex and fetish outfits which were a perfect compliment to the dark halls of the hotel. An extremely confident and experience model, working with Marie is always a pleasure. This black and white image really captured the mood of this day and the essence of her as a person.
