What’s up, Hive? Man, I’ve really been taking on far more then I should lately. I thought this would be a good opportunity to put all of these things in to a blog and look at my life from a bird’s eye view. For the last twenty years or so, I’ve created a pattern of filling any and all time in my life with projects. Sometimes that’s a source of great stress and other times, great reward. I’m walking a knife’s edge of that now. I’m between productivity euphoria and collapse. I’ll be fine. I always get through this; I just don’t know why I always take on this many commitments!
I’ve been shooting in Minnesota a lot more than usual lately. I’ve mentioned on here over the years that most of my work is in LA and NYC. Throughout June and July, I’ve had around ten shoots, which is above average. One shoot was with Velveteen Suicide, a model I’ve know for almost ten years. We’ve shot together several times. She’s in my book and featured in the Dark Pinup NFT collection on WAX. We finally got together for a spontaneous afternoon in the humid Minnesota heat, but the photos are some of the best we’ve ever taken together.
I’ve been grinding on Immutable Realms. This is the EOS arts and culture zine I’ve been working on for the last few months. Much of this is about process, getting modules together for a 16 page publication that focuses on the artists, creators, philosophy and comics within the EOS space. I’ll be co-hosting a Fractal Fiction event with @lovejoy tomorrow, and I’ve made quite a bit of headway inking the pencils for the cover. A ton of the art, writing and coordination for this is on me. It’s awesome, but I am stressed.
Things at @mirrorpool art really going well. I’ve had to shift my focus for a bit, but the timing seems fine because
@felblob has been driving across the country and
@swarddraws has been catching up on some of his own work. Next week, we’ll all come together for a catch up. I’ve been integrating AI art with my compositions but that’s an entire blog post in and of itself. Generally, for this state of a chain update, things are good and I’m in something of a creative renaissance. It feels great!
