Good evening, Hive! I’m winding down from a really busy, really productive weekend. It seems like most my friends are falling in to a similar pattern. I think most of our lives have become untenable, too fast, too much. This global slow down, as scary as it may be, will have silver linings. I’ve cleaned, organized and made use of my entire basement as a pantry and space for future writing. I’ve wanted to do these things for years, but haven’t found the time. I’ve got lots of that now.
Another silver lining of being quarantined is having a chance to catch up on owed work. One of my last posts on Steemit was a photography shoot with a curvy Seattle based model named Rebecca. I was hoping to finish her this weekend, and as of late Sunday night, I was able to do that. I’ve owed her these images for far too long so it feels really good to set a goal, and actually reach it. These are the final edits from our shoot together, just about a year ago. I have fond memories of my time in Seattle and Rebecca was my first shoot during that trip. She booked a beautiful hotel just outside downtown. There were some challenges with the room itself. It didn’t fit my typical esthetic, usually vintage or Victorian, but I enjoy the challenge of finding creative solutions to those problems. The lobby was fun with nooks to sneak away and catch unusual light, and you can see those images in the previous blog.
As soon as I click “publish”, I’ll be added these last images to our shared DropBox folder, and on top of my house and domestic achievements today, I’ll feel really good going to sleep knowing I was able to make good on my client commitment, even if it was way longer than either of us would have preferred. The rest of this week, I’ll be doing homeschooling with
