Happy Father’s Day, to all the dad’s out there! This is a special day. I never take a day with @guthrie for granted. He made me an awesome Stranger Things themed Father’s Day card that said, “Dies of Death”. This kid is awesome. The morning was relaxing and I managed to sleep in a bit. I rolled over, grabbed my phone and killed some time with the most toxic relationship in my life; Magic The Gathering: Arena. I’ve been lingering around tier one for the last few days and thought, “hitting Mythic would be a great way to celebrate Father’s Day”, and with a string of good luck and enragement algorithm kindness, it happened! Only the third time ever!
Our friend @bryanpolitte came by. He wanted to take photos of @vermillionfox’s leucistic ball python, Finn. While he was over, I showed off some of the garden then explained my idea for a board breaking competition at the next outdoor barbecue. I attempted a speed break spinning wheel kick. When I was a teenager, this was my special move and since becoming reacquainted with my athletic side since joining kickboxing, I was still able to pull off a near flawless technique. I also broke a board with my head, but I’ll save that for another blog. @bryanpolitte crushed through one with an elbow.
I haven’t really written about this on Hive yet, but my second Singsong S18 electric unicycle arrived last week. I had an S22 on order for an entire year. Finally, getting fed up with waiting, I cancelled that order and ordered a second S18. Minnesota summers don’t last long and I didn’t want to miss all the potential riding weather. With the new S18, I took a hot June ride to @caffetto and spent a few hours working on @neverwel and @mirrorpool stuff. The balance between friend time, family time, work time and me time was one of the best parts of my Father’s Day.
Tomorrow, a lot of places are closed for Juneteenth. There’s talk about meeting up at @caffetto with @tarotbyfergus and @dartstrife for some in person MTG Commander games. That would be great, as I’ve decided to not play Arena for the rest of the month since I finally hit Mythic. I should be taking @guthrie and myself to kickboxing in the evening, then working on NFT art. This week is going to be really stressful with a parking ticket/tow hearing, some heavy tax preparations, a shoot with an out of town client, and some title transferring for a car.
