Good evening, Steemit! It’s about 11:00p.m. here in the Twin Cities. @guthrie had a friend from school over at 9:00a.m.,
@vermillionfox was running errands all day, and I had hours with two rambunctious boys. Around 5:00p.m., I was able to get away to
@caffetto, and during that time, I finished a set of edits, which in turn, finished another client I’ve owed for far too long. I came home feelings accomplished, and after a quick dinner, was able to relax and watch the newest episode of Picard with
@vermillionfox.
Erika and I shot together towards the fall of last year. She snapped up one of my last available bookings for my final trip to LA for 2019. We set a date, but hadn’t really talked or texted much until days before the shoot. Sometimes I really like that. I tend to stack shoots during photography tours, sometimes taking on over two dozen in 10 days or so. It gives me a sense that the client trusts me, and for all intents and purposes, they should. After twenty years, I know what I’m doing.
When Erika arrived, I gave her a tour of the mansion estate we’d be shooting at in Pasadena. I can’t recall is she’d done a professional shoot before, but she knew her body. She had fluid movements and inescapable engagement with the camera. She had a variety of outfits with her and the two were chose were stark contrasts of one another. A cute dress, and black fishnets and lingerie. The majority of the shoot we did in the library, as she confessed to me her deep love for reading. That informed the concept of the shoot.
This was the last set of images I owed Erika, so ending the week by striking another client off the to-do list feels pretty fucking good. I’m going to try getting together with @ghostfish Sunday for some
@coppercoins work. I’ve been spiraling in to some manic Magic: The Gathering deck building, so I’ll trying to get a few games in with
@tarotbyfergus tomorrow, and finally, preparing to visit
@roadscape at the end of the month. A lot going on, but great developments for the New Year. Thanks for reading!
