Good evening, Hive! I leave for the road tomorrow. Mixed feelings about it all. I’ve both gotten very accustomed to not having to travel for my living, while at the same time, I deeply resent two years of being forced to stay sedentary and isolated. I have about 8 shoots booked over the next week, and I’m going to get to visit 
Tonight, I have a few select images from the big shoot event I did two weeks ago at 300 Clifton in Minneapolis. This was a collaboration between myself, Farah of Lovely Organic Apothecary and Moustache Jim. One of the reasons I came back to this shoot to post on Hive tonight is because I realized one of the models had received three edits back of the same look. Each model shot two looks, so it was a slip on my art. Kelly Desireé also had this incredible Jareth [David Bowie from Labyrinth] look and I had to get her one back of that concept.
Cooper was another stand out from a long day and night of shooting. Cooper is a professional model here in the Twin Cities. 2/3’s of my clients are new or first time models, but there is a presence and engagement with the camera that always stands out with working models. 300 Clifton is legitimately one of the the most stunning locations I’ve ever shot in, which is a pleasure that it’s just a few miles from my home. I was able to work with Cooper in the various Victorian suites on the third floor which is where this new shot was captured.
Finally, Farah, the owner of Lovely Organic Apothecary and co-host/organizer of this shoot event, also modeled as a celebration of her February birthday. Farah is so detail oriented, I knew when she told Jim and I that she wanted to shoot, it would be over the top, decorative and dramatic. We shot with a vail over her head in the depths of the wooden stairway. Just a few ambient lights to cast this cinematic portrait against a shadowy backdrop. One of my favorite from the entire night.
