Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, this jackrabbit was waking up from a rest. A short nap during the day on my lawn before it was time to find an evening meal. The eyes really caught my attention, wide open and alert. I knew this rabbit could dart off at any moment, so I made sure to be calm, make no sudden movements and let him wake up on his own terms.
