All I can muster tonight is a freewrite. I was hoping to share some new photography, but I’m barely standing. This is just some late night thoughts. I had a conversation with @lovejoy earlier tonight. He’s pursuing some really promising blockchain related opportunities, not to mention composing a very important email proposal. We set aside 45 minutes to just through the ball back and forth [over the phone]. Conversations with him,
@roadscape,
@mada and
@robrigo always leave me a bit wild-eyed and manic. That’s why I’m sitting here at 1:00a.m. instead of sleeping.
One thing we talk about was Web 3.0. That’s a buzzword in the blockchain space and I see it all over Twitter. I’m not admonishing the use of it, by any means. It’s fitting, and everything we’re involved in here on Hive does feel like what comes next. Token economies, governance and autonomy within communities, exchanges, networks. All so very cool. One thing I’ve had circling in my head tonight, though, is celebrating Web 2.0. Sometimes with product released […in the tech industry], the very best release you can have is the one that’s been out the longest, just before the cool new innovation.
I’m ready for Web 3.0, and in many ways, I’ve felt like I’ve been living in it since 2016. Long before the masses will experience it, but maybe not as long as @mada,
@lovejoy,
@roadscape and the usual suspects. Tonight, though, I did have to celebrate the fully baked ability to leverage the infrastructure that is already in place. It’s been very important to me since Hive launched, to post daily. I think I’ve only missed one day, and I made that up with a double post the following day. I knew I didn’t have the bandwidth for three new edits tonight.
It still astounds me that I can hold up my phone, snap a picture of something I did, write a few paragraphs about it, and make fucking internet money! Seriously! Don’t take that shit for granted. It’s amazing. My day was busy, and I spent much of it running errands. This morning, I rushed downstairs and @vermillionfox was holding a big box, wrapped up with “fragile”stickers all over. It was an antique lamp from a seller I found on Etsy. I typed in “Turkish lamp”, because the decor for my writing nook downstairs is more or less, a Turkish opium den.
@guthrie and I made a couple stops. Picked up food for our pets, bought a new scorpion, and tried to find a bulb for this lamp. I finally got one around 7:30p.m. at night, and it’s perfect. Again, with my previous VLOG’s and freewrites, I’m pouring a lot of my time, money and resources in to loving my space, and this was a big move towards that. Alright. I’m going to wrap this one up because I’m feeling delirious. Just a few midnight ramblings, but I had to put my appreciation for Hive and this entire platform/community, out there in to the universe.
