Does that count as a joke? I’ve never been good at jokes. Right off the bat you now know TWO things about me, that I’m a redhead and bad at crackin’ jokes. I suppose I’ll also pitch out the fact that I’m a 90’s baby. My mother birthed me in May of nineteen-ninety-four. Growing up, I was never shy and always had fun, like most kids. I spent a lot of time outdoors under the sun. From playing with other kiddos, to becoming the neighborhoods official bug stomper (they payed me in gum). All was swell, because that is exactly how I made it. I always turned the worst of situations into games, I suppose that’s how I coped.
My mom was young when she had me, my actual “father” I have no recollections of, he didn’t reach out to me until I turned seventeen. My brothers “father” I do, and we will leave it at that. Now my mom struck gold when she met my sisters father. Who I so lovingly dotted as dad before she was conceived. That’s right, I called a man who I had been around a handful of times dad. He tells me he left our home that night with tears in his eyes. Well needless to say mom and dad got hitched! After that there was no more moving from trailer park to trailer park, keep in mind that my mom busted her butt as a single mother of two on minimum wage most of the time. Life was good, we moved into a middle-class home, we fished, we hunted, and had a lot of good old-fashioned family time.
Fast forward eleven years and my parents divorced and remarried, I graduated high school and completed a year and a half of community college. I was going for a Nursing degree, to make my father proud! Well due to insufficient funds I dropped out. However, I did become a CNA. Which is selfless work. I have a magnificent work ethic and excel. My old man has instilled that in me. Now I’m working as an activities assistant, which is neat. I set up and help residents participate in many things. That’s been my job for two years! While I love it, it’s not my main goal in life. I want to be a best-selling author, I’m writing a very interesting book now! I want to post more of my short original works here, for fellow steamers to enjoy.
I have always loved writing, I have fond memories of teachers placing writing prompts in front of me and wondering where could I go with this? Then eagerly awaiting my grade and any commentary they had. In fact, it’s making me smile just thinking back on it.
I am also an avid lover of art; drawing, painting, tablet work, you name it. I’ll be in my first art show this upcoming July! I love, love, love, playing videogames. I play mostly rpgs, turn-based, anything fun and colorful… it must have a remarkable story line! My favorite series are Legend of Zelda, Persona, Fire emblem, Animal Crossing. I spend entirely too much time playing Stardew Valley (In the picture below I'm actually cosplaying as Abigail). I also love reading, bet you would have never guessed that eh?!
Now you know a bit about my past, what my interests are, and what I’m here for, so I’ll keep it simple and sweet from here on. My name is Kaylee, I do not wish to be nicknamed “red”. I live with my boyfriend, he’s the love of my life! He inspires me, builds me up, and takes wonderful care of me. We have two cats, Lestat, who’s a cross between a munchkin and a American curl, and Fyodor, who’s all black. These three fellows, I want to give the world, alongside the rest of my family. I see a lot of beauty in life, in people, and I choose to convey that through words. Have a peachy rest of your day!
