Should the elegance of thy brow,
Be compared to the arks of the rainbow?
Or the fertile keukenhof of Netherland
Where butterflies gather to feed their sight?
Should the embodiment of thy beauty
Be compared to the great China wall,
Wherein the ancient wind
Of time knows not of her fall?
Nay!
Neither shall I compare thee
To the rigid China walls,
Though she may hold it all
In the palm of worth, but,
Embraces does she not
To a garment of love.
Wherefore
I shall compare thee to
The ever enduring sun,
For her, none woos
But the brave eagle
