In one way or another, a good number of people living on this earth, as well as aliens on other planets, must have heard about the second-generation Tesla Roadster, whose concept was unveiled by Elon Musk and which, according to him and his crew, is expected to go into production in 2028.
After the unveiling, the internet caught fire, with everyone imagining what the world would look like with flying cars in the air. A lot of AI-generated videos flooded the internet, and it has been like that ever since the announcement on the 15th of October, 2026.
Do you know what confuses me about the whole saga?
In the official video, the car is seen flying and rotating in the air, and this keeps me wondering if I am the only one who is not comfortable with the idea of a car flying in the air and somersaulting. How will the humans inside stay in their seats? When the top of the car turns towards the ground, won't the same thing happen to the people inside? In other words, won't their heads also turn upside down along with the car? The idea looks strange to me. Except, perhaps, there is going to be a twist where the seats inside the car will rotate accordingly as the car somersaults in the air.
That aside, what about the smoky fumes that propel the car into the air?
If the cars, when released, are going to perform that way, pumping out smoke as they fly, then I don't see anything interesting about it. Imagine if this kind of car gets to my part of the world, Nigeria. It is going to cause a commotion everywhere whenever the car flies because the smoke will stir up the dust that is always present in our environment, causing it to spread everywhere and making visibility almost impossible. The only exception might be if the car is going to be used exclusively during the rainy season, when there is little or no dust in the air.
Aside from that, the smoky idea is not ideal. If, perhaps, the fumes I saw in the video are not actually smoke, then I still don't find it interesting for a car to fly in the air while emitting fumes. Or are the fumes similar to those produced by a rocket launching into space? Of course, that is fire we are talking about!
