Mehnnnn, although the year 2026 has not ended, a lot has happened, and it's one of those years I can't forget in a hurry. I remember some months ago when I had just closed from work and my dad called me to inform me that my immediate younger brother had been involved in a disastrous accident and was admitted to the hospital. This accident wasn't just the usual one; it was fatal to the extent that some of his teeth had to be replaced with artificial ones, while scars disfigured his face. That season was one hell of a season out of all the seasons this year, with a lot of running around and transferring money every now and then. We thank God that he survived the accident and has bounced back to good health now, although he still feels pain whenever he hits his teeth heavily.

Another notable event was how one of my sisters gave birth through CS(cesarean section). This is something that hasn't happened in our house before. My mom gave birth to many children and didn't have to go through CS, and my older siblings who have given birth also didn't have to go through CS. So, when the news got to us through my sister's husband that she had been admitted for a CS, ultimate fear and faith had us all through those two days. Thank God she survived the operation and came out with a bouncing baby boy. If it had gone the other way around, I don't know how we would have survived the shock.

So, you see, the year has been a mix of fear and laughter, but thank God that the laughter has always been coming out at the end of the trials.

Ohhh, lest I forget, before the trials and temptations, my sister who gave birth through CS had her traditional marriage done. Like, the party was held early this year before she gave birth. So we had a party.

This year, we as a nation experienced one of the biggest heartbreaks in the history of our national football. This may not appear very important to many Nigerians who don't follow the national football teams of the nation. The Super Falcons of Nigeria, which is the senior women's national team of the nation, failed to qualify for the FIFA Women's World Cup to be held in Brazil in 2027.

This happened after we missed out on the automatic qualification during the WAFCON and also missed out on the very last spot we had hoped for, which went to the South African women. It's a thorough heartbreak. What even makes it worse is the fact that the World Cup tournament is yet to be played. We'll feel more of the heartbreak during the tournament next year. This is something that the Nigerian team has not missed since its inception. What a pain! This is a national issue but I have a deep interest and I was hurt deeply.

What I'm looking forward to for the remaining part of the year:

There's a wedding party I've been involved in planning for the past two months. It's finally happening towards the end of this month, and it's going to be the biggest party I'm going to attend this year. Who doesn't like a wedding event of a family member or a very close friend? No one!

For this event, I'll be travelling to another far state, and it'll be the farthest I have travelled for the sake of a party. That's to tell you how important and involved I am in the upcoming ceremony.

Thanks for reading.
