I am on my journey of the twenties, and here I stand wondering what went wrong or what is going wrong. I still feel reluctant in many phases of my life. I thought I was on the boat alone until I realized many groups of people were along with me and I also recognized most of them. Maybe I was supposed to feel cozy but that put me in doubt.
Why are we so nervous, so reluctant? Is it based upon experience, age, knowledge, or something I am unknown of?
Few are bold in old age that are cowardly in childhood
At first let us look at the quote presented to us in this post "Think like a Viking: Part thirty-six". I was wondering about it for quite a good amount of time, as the theme was right in my head but I couldn't portray it down in words. It is not a credit to be unable to express when you just have the right mood and expression, but not the vocabulary. So, what came to my mind was that we are more reluctant to take risks when we are young than when we are old.
Reluctancy is a mood that fills the air when we are not prepared for something or we are not quite ready for the moment, but we are having to cross that moment. You are having to live a time, of which you are not prepared for. Reluctancy is most common when we are children, young, or young adults, it is barely on aged adults. Did you ever think as to why?
I have fairly gotten the answer to my unasked questions, why do we gradually become confident, why is it not from birth? These are quite silly questions to think about, but it could have been a gradual habit, which could be developed into confidence.
Lack of confidence can drive us towards feeling reluctant and becoming someone who is unlike our true self but is confined within and only appears when old age along with experience takes a turn on us. Unless we are knocked out quite many times, it doesn't hit to us, to become more courageous and to take action. So, those of us who intend to do more but are unable to, spark when we are older enough. While those of us who are able to, do not have to wait till experience got to us.
When we wait the whole time, we indeed are more excited and more interested to grow. I feel that this quote directs to not only the young minds but also to the old minds, it depicts yearning for more and more, it portrays different colors and shades of one object; human behavior. This shapes us into who we are. So, ultimately we get to choose what we become, what we crave for, and what shapes us into who we are and who we become.
