Grandma Owl always warned us.
"Children never venture deep into the Forest, the Mystical Being is there and will play with your souls."
The children lowered their heads but one came forward and spoke up,
"But Grandma, no one has ever seen the Mystical being!"
Grandma sighed, as she put her wing on the little owl's head and said,
"Hush now little one, if by any chance you got lost deep into the forest — remember, when you see the Mystical Being, sleep till you don't hear its laughter anymore and never play with it!"
The Little Owl too sighed,
"Okay, Grandma,"
Grandma flew away, leaving the children to their devices but the Little Owl decided to see for himself what the Mystical Being is really like.
In the dead of night, he flew deep towards the Forest.
Keeping his senses sharp trying to make out anything that spells the Mystical Beings' approach, and soon enough he heard little children's laughter echoing throughout the Forest. Ahead he saw glowing balls of light slowly approaching him, fear crept up his feathers and all his resolve turned to dust as he dashed towards the highest tree branch and pretended to sleep.
The Little Owl heard a kaleidoscope of small voices.
"Oh, Little Owl have you come to play?"
A faint light came across his closed eyes that made the dread more unbearable, he wanted to scream and fly away as fast as possible, but realizing his Grandma was right, kept him from doing so.
"Little Owl, are you asleep? Wake up now... we are lonely and need someone to play with."
He ignored the Mystical Being the best he can but a part of him wants to see... there is a deep thought that lingers in his consciousness that wants to play with the Mystical Being, but her Grandma's words are stronger.
"Hmmmm, Little Owl when you change your mind come see me again... I'll wait for you."
The light slowly faded and the laughter slowly got drowned out by the silence of the night. He opened his eyes and the darkness of the forest felt like a warm welcome to him.
He flew like he never flew before straight back into the safety of his family.
