Grandma says lots of stuffs, some are confusing and some are self-explanatory. She once said to me, " Child, not every river needs to be crossed, You just sit by and enjoy the view of some."
I didn't understand it then and cared less. I was trying to cross everything, arguments, challenges,other people expectations and more. I thought strength meant never stopping and would become weak if I didn't cross these rivers.
But now I get it. Some things in life aren't obstacles. The are just scenery, some battles aren't meant to be fought. Some questions don't need to be answered.That quotation comes back to me when I'm trying too hard, when I'm working myself too much trying to fix everything.
Maybe the real wisdom isn't in knowing how to fight but in knowing what to leave alone. Some rivers really are for scenery.
