How many of you have a scale? Have you actually sat down and thought about what the point even is of a scale? To me, scales are nothing but bad news. Depending where your scale is located(most peoples are located in the bathroom) that’s where mine is.. you become addicted to weighing yourself...or at least I did..

Have you ever ate something you instantly regretted then stepped right on the scale with horrible guilt? Have you woke up one morning and looked in the mirror and looked disgusted with your self? Do you ever just grab your stomach fat with disappointment? Do you ever picture a weight you would love to be?

So what do you do? Do you start dieting to meet your goals? Do you work out? What are your solutions for getting out of this horrible “let’s weigh myself constantly phase”?

I’m writing this because I’m guilty of all the above... one morning I woke up and decided I wasn’t happy with my body. I constantly looked in the mirror and didn’t like what was looking back at me. I would step on the scale just to hate the numbers I would see. I constantly would scan the media looking at all theses Instagram fitness models wishing I’d look like that. Almost every time I ate, I would go to the bathroom to weigh myself. It was becoming unhealthy.

Over the past year, I really started hitting the gym. Being a student athlete growing up, I knew the basics of going to the gym and dieting. However, I wasn’t really sure what I was doing sometimes but I figured I’d learn as I go. Being a female and new to the gym can be intimating but eventually I learned to block out all the “meat heads”. I slowly started to fall in love with the gym and started making it a lifestyle to go every day. Of course, dieting has a play into it too. Although I’m not a hard ass extreme diet freak I try and change the little things. Such as, cutting back on ice cream, eat more fruit and veggies and drinking a lot more water.

Still to this day I am still guilty stepping on the scale multiple times a day however, what I learned is, the scale just shows numbers. It makes you feel down about yourself. It is not always correct nor does it show you what you want to see. When weighing yourself always remember you are beautiful!
