Happy Thursday Hivers!

Duol ra kaayo....

In English it is translated as "it is just very near". That's what my friend told me and I'll tell you that was the longest trekk I'd experienced. The trekk took around one hour. Have I regretted? Check this out.

The quest is over.

That's what I had in mind as we've finally found the jumping-off point to Kuridas mountain. A good Samaritan brought us there.

The Kuridas mountain is located in Brgy. Puhagan, Negros Oriental. It is 45 minutes away from the heart of Valencia town.

I gave my friend a frowning face as she looked at me because I know the trekk is long but she just smiled at me.

I've already mentioned it here before (but it suddenly changed) that I'm lazy to go mountain climbing because of the difficult pathways but because I was totally clueless to our itinerary when she picked me up so the only choice that I had was just to go with her.

As we started to ascend, I was just quite and my mind was still debating if I will pursue or just let my friend continued the trekk and I will just wait her at the jumping-off point. But there was a tiny voice in my head screaming to go on because this is an opportunity for me to branch out.

20220618_135032.jpg

The trekk I had before only took less than 20 minutes but my trekk I had experienced 2 weeks ago was totally contradictory.

20220618_140411.jpg

Breath was started to run out; legs were started to get hurt; and the feeling of great exhaustion was started to hit on me.

20220618_141447.jpg

I tried to talk to the little boy who constantly at my back. It was my strategy to divert my mind from the exhaustion I had felt.

20220618_142255.jpg

Keep going. Keep going. That was my mantra while ascending to Kuridas mountain. I certainly pushed myself. We're on the halfway to our trekk when the intense drops of perspiration made my shirt too wet.

20220618_142909.jpg

Though my back was already wet but taking off my jacket was the thing I never consider because it protects me from the wild grasses that caused so much itching sensation when touched on the skin.

20220618_143028.jpg

As I kept walking going to the top, I never had thought that I would be able to start liking beneath the lush forest because I was completely with nature.

20220618_143126.jpg

We'd seen different wild grasses and some of it has capability to cure illnesses. Ooppppsss that's what my friend told me.

20220618_144217.jpg

I can't remember how many times I took rest from hiking because I usually found myself catching my breath.

20220618_144823.jpg

You can make it to the top. You can make it to the top. That was another mantra I had in mind because I was already felt so tired.

20220618_144904.jpg

As we kept ascending, my legs have started to lost its strength. I wanted to stop and let my friend and tour guides to continue the trekk but I was scared being alone in the lush forest.

20220618_145131.jpg

Do you know what? I felt delighted every time I've found her enjoyed photo taking because it means I have longer time to take rest.

20220618_145300.jpg

When our tour guide told me that we were only just 2 minutes away to the top I felt energized and my pace had quickly changed. And finally, I made it to the top.

20220618_152440.jpg

I congratulated myself when I already made to the peak of the mountain because it was my first long trekk I had experienced.

20220618_151523.jpg

I don't want to leave the mountain without nice photos with me. I want to give justice to the tiring and long trekk.

20220618_151524.jpg

I'm sorry I was tempted to pick flowers, there are many flowers that scattered everywhere, they were so beautiful but some of them were already died.

20220618_153058.jpg

The place was already barren. They don't maintained the tourist spots since the pandemic started.

But its natural beauty is still existing. It is absolutely stunning.

We stayed on top of the mountain less than an hour. We didn't stay longer because it's already around 3:00 in the afternoon.

This is our view on our way home.

That was my trekk experience to Kuridas mountain. Although it was tiring but I haven't regreted the time when I decided to pursue the trekk. I slipped many times but it's ok though because I was able to try new thing.
