Happy Saturday Hivers!
Melon is definitely one of the fruits we really want to grow in our garden! In fact, we’ve already tried growing it. Unfortunately, our first attempt wasn’t successful. The plant survived and even started flowering, and tiny fruits began to form. However, they never grew bigger. Every time a tiny fruit started developing, it would turn yellow and eventually die. This happened several times, and I was really disappointed.

Eventually, I decided to pull out the plant because I thought the problem might be the soil, as there were quite a few stones in it.
But my mom and I didn’t give up! Since we both love melons, we decided to try planting another batch. We really want to grow our own melons, so we’re not ready to give up on this dream just yet.
However, this time, our melon plants have been attacked by different garden pests. There are hairy caterpillars, brown and green grasshoppers, and other insects. It's sad to see the leaves full of holes because of them.
I'm not really comfortable using pesticides to get rid of the pests, so we haven't sprayed anything on the plants. Despite the damage, the plants are still growing. They have even started flowering, although no fruits have formed yet.
I really hope that despite all the damage to their leaves, our melon plants will still produce fruits. My mom and I have already tried growing melons before, and even though our first attempt failed, we're still willing to try again.
For now, we'll just continue taking care of them and hope that those little flowers will soon turn into healthy melons. It would be such a joy to finally harvest our own homegrown melons!
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
