Happy Sunday Hivers!

It's been four years since my mom planted a grapevine in our garden. At that time, I was still working in Cebu for a corporate company, while my mom was the one taking care of the land and cultivating the garden. Now, four years have passed, but our grapevine still hasn't produced any fruit. We're not sure how long it usually takes for a grapevine to start bearing fruit.

One of our neighbors noticed that our grapevine has been growing for years without producing any fruit, so she suggested that my mom try pruning it. She also noticed that we don't often pruned it before and had simply allowed the vines and leaves to grow freely. Perhaps pruning it will help encourage fruit production.

So, the very next day, my mom went ahead and pruned it. From having such a thick of leaves, only a few leaves were left, mostly concentrated near the upper part of the vine. It looked quite bare compared to how it used to be!

Hopefully, the day will come when our grapevine finally starts bearing fruit. I've never had the chance to pick fresh grapes straight from the vine, and I'm really looking forward to experiencing that someday through the grapevine growing in our garden.

How about you? Do you also have a grapevine growing in your garden? How many years did it take before it started bearing fruit? I'd love to hear about your experiences and learn a thing or two about growing grapes!
