This is one of my saddest posts ever.
And one of the hardest things I ever did in my life......
"Then", you may ask, "Why do you post it?"
I gave this a lot of thought before I would. But I think that it will be something to spread awareness for, and a way of me to thank you all here - you will soon know why.
I have been caring for many of the stray cats in my area. Some of them are also living home with me. I know them one by one, each has a special place in my heart.
Some of them are so kind characters that they crawl closer to my heart...
Today is the day when I speak about Chioni..
Chioni means snow in Greek.
We gave this name to a beautiful white cat a long time ago. Her life was adventurous. Before castration, she gave birth to some amazing cats (you may remember Pepper and Penny, I have posted photos of them here many times)
She was a stray cat, but most of the people loved her. I always had a kind thing to say about her and pet her. She was also so beautiful.... like a princess cat...
Even though I always gave her food and water, sometimes I would see a sadness in her looks... Until, a foreign woman came and rented a house close to me.
I lost Chioni for a while and then I found out that the lady had given her a loving home. I was so happy for her...! She would come visit every now and then (or whenever her lady was way for holidays)
Until .. the lady got very ill and did not make it :( Chioni was alone again. Well not alone, she had me - but it was not the same.
(Chioni ..)
A few months ago I noticed something strange on her noise. I showed images to the vet.
The diagnosis: cancer
The prognosis: not good
There was no other solution but to put her to sleep...
I could not accept that and I did not want that to happen.
But time would go by and she would get worse.
By now, she could no longer breathe... Big part of her face was gone .. She came to eat and drink water but would then disappear every time. It was evident that she was in pain...
I talked to the doctor and this had to be done.
I still was unsure.. but every time I saw her I would be in pain myself.
But today I put her food in the cage and she got in willingly. I was all alone and started crying.
It was like she kind of knew.....
I hope she is at a better place...
With her loved lady - who will take care her in the other world...
It’s so much darker when a light goes out than it would have been if it had never shone.

~ Farewell my dear, white Chioni 😿
I would like to take this opportunity and thank you all here.
I do not use much of the hive earned, but when I do - I always buy food and use it for the cats better care.
Chioni's last moments and her sad but calm look ... :(
